Hand-painted animation · short film
Water
A few moments from a short film I’m making with writer Todd Monahan.
Painting the
performance.
Water is an independent animated short written by Todd Monahan. I’m developing the painted world and character animation through Fig & Frame.
These shots follow Nur carrying water through the heat. The weight of the buckets, his posture and the light across his face all help tell the story. I want the movement to feel connected to the painting, rather than sitting on top of it.

01 / Landscape
The walk
through the heat.
A wide view of the same world. The small figure, long shadow and pale distance give the walk its scale.
02 / Setting
Back in
the village.
The village shot brings more of the world into view: thatched roofs, warm shadows and small figures around Nur’s path.
